Thursday night I collided with a deer... or rather, it bashed my car. I was driving home from Aberdeen. It appeared out of the darkness to my left. I thought I could get by it, but it spooked and bounded into my vehicle. It bounced off and then tumbled on the road.
I kept going, 'cause I was trying to visit a store to pick up some photos before they closed. Later, I pulled over at a gas station to see what damage might have occurred. I couldn't fully open my driver door, so I had to exit out of the passenger's side. The left front fender, near the left wheel, was bashed in.
I decided to file a police report, in case I might need it for my insurance claim. That took a long time (about 1.5 hours), 'cause the officer hadn't reported on this kind of incident before.
(Needless to say, I wasn't able to make it to the store in time to pick up my photos.)
Posted by raacluse at August 6, 2004 10:51 PMI hope your car did'nt have any extensive damages.
Posted by: Gail at August 14, 2004 01:01 PMthanks, for your concern. The deer was a baby, so the damage was limited. It cost $680 to replace the fender, a cracked front turn light assembly, and the model letters and pinstriping on the fender.
