earthquake survivor

Yes, I'm an earthquake survivor.
I "survived" the Chino Hills 5.4 (Richter scale) earthquake, earlier this week. :-)

Normally, an earthquake of that mildness is barely worth mentioning.

What's noteworthy is that I happened to be over on the Southern California coast, when it happened, in the Palos Verdes Peninsula. That's an area which rarely has been affected by SoCal quakes. Must've been an hitherto unknown fault line.

I was sitting in an office chair with wheels. The tremor made me start moving sideways. For a split second, I was alarmed. But I quickly figured out that it was a quake and rode it out with equanimity.

...Flying back to quake-free Bawlmer, tonight. (if the earth doesn't swallow up the plane on the LAX runway...)
